The Vs. Tsukasa Arc is the second arc of Dr. Stone and the second and final arc of the Prologue Saga.
Revealing conflicting goals, Senku and Tsukasa begin clashing. At a significant power disadvantage, Senku and his friends escape to Hakone to create a weapon of science.
Summary[]
Taiju accidentally lets slip the secret of the Cave of Miracles as he didn't hear Tsukasa's plan. Senku pretends that they don't have enough nitric acid to make the Revival Fluid as a ploy to get Tsukasa away from seeing the recipe. They act quickly and manage to revive Yuzuriha Ogawa before Tsukasa gets back, and Senku makes Taiju and Yuzuriha decide whether to run and live somewhere else, or to fight Tsukasa.[1]
They decide to fight Tsukasa just as he arrives from the cave, bringing more nitric acid. Tsukasa throws down some rocks which Taiju recognizes as broken statue and realizes what sort of person Tsukasa is. He runs at him to fight, and takes one of Tsukasa's kicks, but doesn't fight back since fighting is wrong. Instead, Tsukasa wonders out loud if he should kill Yuzuriha instead, which Taiju responds by blocking her with his body. Tsukasa simply tells them to not get in his way and leaves. Senku suggests they make gunpowder.[2]
Faking escaping out of fear, the trio head to Hakone. They get lost on the way, but the The Great Buddha of Kamakura puts them back on the correct path. It's revealed that Yuzuriha still had some stone left on her foot, which Senku undoes with more revival fluid. She comments that it feels like the pain is washing away. Meanwhile, Tsukasa sees they've escaped and understands they left to get better weapons, and chases after them.[3]
Relaxing in the hot springs of Hakone, Taiju and Yuzuriha talk, and Taiju decides he'll confess when humanity is restored. While they do that, Senku makes gunpowder. Senku and Tsukasa acknowledge that this battle will result in someone getting killed. After accidentally setting off the gunpowder, Yuzuriha notices that there's a fire in the distance, and Senku tells them to set it off more to try signalling to whoever lit the fire, as the direction means it wasn't Tsukasa.[4]
The pair head off to collect more wood for fires, but Yuzuriha is captured by Tsukasa. He leads her back to Senku, and they try to discuss a compromise.[5] Neither agrees, and ultimately Tsukasa kills Senku by snapping his neck.[6] Slightly too late arriving, Taiju seems to get angry and throws a rock at Tsukasa, which distracts Tsukasa long enough for Yuzuriha to throw the remaining gunpowder at them, and the pair escape with Senku's body.[7] Knowing Senku would find a way to save everyone, they remember about the revival fluid and pour it onto Senku's neck, where a stone piece remained.[8]
