Titan (チタン Chitan) is a villager from Ishigami Village.

Appearance[]

Titan has somewhat long, extremely spiky hair. Several sparse strands fall over his eyes. His face is similar to Chrome's: boyish with a slightly rounded jaw, large ears and the same nose. His eyes are also fairly large and rectangular, with long, thick eyebrows similar to Tetsuken's.

His outfit consists of a short-sleeved shirt, wrapped and tied by two lengths of rope. A lot of his chest is showing, similar to Magma's shirt. Titan also wears cut-off pants, the same dark blue as his shirt.

Occasionally, he is shown wearing a small, round, back-strapped shield, tied with a rope over each shoulder like a backpack.

Personality[]

Titan is jovial and friendly, willing to crack jokes and comment during the Grand Bout.[2]

Abilities and Skills[]

With a shield on his back similar to how Kohaku wears hers, Titan appears to be a village guard like many of the other men of the village. However, he has no visible weapon on himself.

In the anime when attacking the Cave of Miracles, Titan is shown holding a single-edged spear, similar to everyone else.[3]

Synopsis[]

He is first introduced alongside Alabaster in the log canoes with wicker pots filled with fish.[4]

Later, he is shown commenting on the Grand Bout fights with the other villagers, at one point commenting that compared to the fight between Magma and Kinro, Chrome and Mantle's is way less intense, and afterwards commenting on Ginro's fight.[5]

Trivia[]

  • Titan's name (チタン) is the Japanese word for Titanium (elemental symbol: Ti, atomic number: 22), keeping with the theme of all the villagers' names referencing metals and crystals.
  • Titan ranked 30th on the fourth character popularity poll.
  • Looking at the introduction page of all the villagers in chapter 17, it seems that Titan's and Chrome's original eye shapes were swapped in all the subsequent depictions.
  • Unless reacting to something or flanked by someone, Titan always stands with a hand on his hip.
