Light of Science (科学の光 Kagaku no Hikari) is the sixty-sixth episode of the anime Dr. Stone and the ninth episode of the fourth season.
Summary[]
Luna Wright, a former medical student, uses her skills to save Senku Ishigami, as he tells her that the new scientist of the Kingdom of Science is... Chrome.
Plot Details[]
After Senku is shot, the crew on the Perseus reacts to the gunfire. Stanley, believing his job is done, leaves, leaving Max and Carlos to rescue Luna if they choose. Ryusui quickly takes charge, urging the crew to stay calm and counterattack. Senku weakly reassures them he's not dead, though he's severely injured. Taiju and Francois patch him up as best they can, but lack the necessary medical expertise. Luna checks Senku’s blood pressure, revealing she was a medical student who failed a year. Taiju desperately asks for her help.
Meanwhile, outside Xeno’s castle, Chrome and Kohaku search for a way in but are startled by Tsukasa and Hyoga arriving as reinforcements. Assessing the situation, Tsukasa and Hyoga decide to dig their way inside. Ukyo devises a coded method to communicate with the Perseus, only to learn that Senku has been shot. A second message arrives, simply spelling out Chrome’s name, leaving him in charge as the acting scientist. Chrome is determined to dig a tunnel to the American Colony base for a sneak attack.
Meanwhile, Senku remains bedridden from his gunshot wound, and Tsukasa estimates the tunnel will take at least two weeks to complete. On the Perseus, Ryusui predicts the Americans will soon demand their surrender, believing Senku’s science to be the main threat. To buy time, they deliver the dead Petrification Weapon to Xeno’s base, relying on Gen to convince them that they possess hypertech capable of petrification. Xeno, unsure if the bluff is true, checks on another project he has in progress, which Brody estimates will also take two weeks to complete.
Using triangulation, Chrome calculates the tunnel's required length and outlines the necessary tools. Tsukasa and Ukyo deduce that a drill is the key item, much to Chrome’s disappointment at their quick realization.
