Lock On (LOCK (ロック) ON (オン) Rokku on) is the sixty-fifth episode of the anime Dr. Stone and the eighth episode of the fourth season.

Summary[]

NASA scientist Dr. Xeno attempts to pick off the leader of the Kingdom of Science.

Plot Details[]

The flashback of the American Colony after the petrification continues, revealing that Stanley’s unit obeyed his order to stay awake during the petrification event. Some soldiers notice the statues of Carlos and Max, and assume civilians won’t wake up, only to be surprised when they do. Carlos spits out a preserved platinum ring intended for Luna, which Xeno picks up and realizes can be used to produce a limitless supply of nitric acid—allowing him to rule the Stone World. Meanwhile, the American Colony begins building their fortress, while Senku and Taiju work on creating the Revival Fluid.

Back to the present, Xeno clarifies to Stanley that Senku is the enemy scientist and not Taiju. To identify Senku, Xeno retrieves a recording of Perseus’ transmissions and estimates Senku’s height (5’8”) and age (19). Using Luna as a reference, Stanley narrows his targets down to three. Meanwhile, Ryusui warns the crew about a sniper, causing them to scatter. Luna instinctively looks at Stanley, unintentionally giving away his position. Stanley uses this to his advantage, predicting Senku’s movements based on geometric principles. Before shooting, Stanley confirms with Xeno that he truly wants Senku dead, which Xeno affirms due to their opposing ambitions. As Stanley fires, Senku uses dilatant fluid—tested for bulletproofing—to reduce the bullet’s impact. The episode ends with Senku getting shot.
