En (工ン, En) is one of the villagers of Ishigami Village. She is the wife of Sagan and the mother of Ganen.

Appearance

En is a small, portly woman with bobbed blonde hair with two-tiered bangs, the middle part being the shortest and the sides curling inwards. Her eyes are small and almond-shaped, and her eyebrows are of uniform thickness and arched. She has a small nose. Her mouth has no visible lips, but has pronounced nasolabial folds at the corners of her mouth and dimples on both sides. En's face shape is oval with large cheeks and a double chin.

She wears the village rope around her neck, tied at the front. Her dress is sleeveless with a high collar, and the same shade of olive-green as Sagan's tunic.

Personality

Like Ganen, En seems to prioritize food and be a gourmand. Unlike her husband, however, she seems to be a rather happy, joyful person and is always shown smiling.

Synopsis

En is first shown commenting on the outsider who arrived outside Ishigami Village. Her theory is that Senku is somehow connected to the criminals the villagers had banished some time "from way back". In the anime, En insists her theory is correct and goes so far as to say that she bets her next meal on it. Whether she actually followed through with this is unknown. The next time we see her is when she is sitting in a hut with her husband and son, eating skewered fish over a fire and discussing said fish.
