"Prepare to die, junior science club. I'll greet you in hell when I join you someday."

— Charlotte, Dr. Stone (Manga) Chapter 164

Charlotte (シャーロット Shārotto) is one of the members of the American Colony. She appears to idolize Stanley Snyder and is rarely shown far from him.

Appearance

Charlotte is a young woman with short bob and light-colored hair. Her hair is smooth on her head, ending in slightly spiky ends at the back, with her bangs gently framing her face and a single thick strand falling across the middle. Her eyebrows are straight and thin, and taper towards the end. Charlotte's eyes are half-moon shaped, tilted slightly inwards, giving her a bit of a bored expression. Her petrification marks are two symmetrical lines under her eyes, similar to the tears on mime makeup.

Her outfit is a black skin-tight latex unitard with a turtleneck collar. It has a zipper running down the back of it, ending at the base of her spine between a square of buttons. She has a wide belt with extra protrusions at her hips. She wears a set of gloves the same style as Stanley's, with a large cuff and studs along the edge. When she was first introduced, she wore similar tasseled armor to Stanley in addition to her unitard.

Personality

Charlotte is a dedicated and extremely loyal person, especially when it comes to Stanley. She usually seems serious and plays by the rules, but isn't afraid to banter during the dogfight with Ryusui. However, it is shown that even she can become frustrated as she was in disbelief by the enemy overcoming her in their aerial battle.

However, unlike her comrades, Charlotte isn't completely unsympathetic. After she is saved by Suika, Charlotte begins to hesitate when accepting the order to to kill all on sight.

Abilities and Skills

  • Piloting: Charlotte is shown to be a very skilled pilot, giving even Ryusui a hard time. She's able to pull off incredibly difficult moves, even with the limited stone world technology.
  • Military Training: Charlotte has had some form of military training, as she's able to handle a gun, though she doesn't seem to be as refined in shooting as soldiers like Stanley.

Synopsis

New America City Arc

Charlotte after shedding her Stanley disguise.

The Kingdom of Science was under the impression that Stanley had come to attack the Perseus, however it was in fact Charlotte.[3] She engages in a dogfight against Ryusui, with an injured Senku as a co-pilot. Charlotte chases them through the air, as she is a better, faster pilot. Ryusui tries using it against her and makes a sharp turn, except she executes the high-speed yoyo, reversing their positions once more. Ryusui, taking inspiration from Charlotte's technique and fearlessness, pulls off the cobra maneuver and takes aim at Charlotte's plane.[4] To avoid it, Charlotte begins jinking, forcing Ryusui and Senku to bomb her from above with acetylene gas.[5] This causes her plane to crash into the forest, where she starts firing upon Ryusui and Senku but misses. She is defeated with Ryusui threatening her until her ruse is revealed, revealing her as Charlotte rather than Stanley. Charlotte taunts the duo on falling for the ruse and reveals Stanley is taking the Perseus.[6]

South America Arc

Charlotte is on the Perseus, where she noticed the wounded Matsukaze disappeared from the sick bay. She is present when Stanley interrogates the Samurai but Ginro emerges and reveals Senku's group is heading for South America. Charlotte then joins everyone on the Perseus to chase the "junior science club".[7]

She later shoots at the escaping motorcycles along with the rest of Stanley's men, then stopping them from firing when the dust cloud means they risk hitting Xeno. Charlotte then takes notes for Stanley when Xeno blinks Morse code at them.[8]

While transversing the river with her allies, Charlotte is confused when Leonard surmises the Science brigade will have to build a new ship to travel. She inquires how they'll recognize it and he voices they'll detect it on the radar.[9]

Much later, she reports they are getting weird static. After it was revealed to a message from Xeno, Charlotte quickly tells Stanley there is no way the enemy created missiles. [10]

She travels the jungle with her comrades, before she is bit on the neck by a spider. As a result, Charlotte collapses on the ground because of the venom spreading in her system. As she passes out, Suika emerges from hiding and quickly places a nitroglycerine-soaked swab onto the bite, saving her life. Regaining consciousness, Charlotte thanks the young girl. However the rest of the group are alerted of this and spot Suika standing over Charlotte.[11]

Charlotte remains incapacitated while slowly recovering from her near-death experience. She watches as Suika and Francois are captured.[12]

Charlotte eventually recovers from her injuries and aids her comrades in laying siege to the science brigade hideout.[13]

Relationships

Stanley Snyder

Charlotte seems to have a past with Stanley, as she refers to him as "Captain Stanley" and seems to think very highly of his skills. When Ryusui and Senku find her, she lauds his "godly sniping skills" as being enough to scare them into hiding on the Perseus and not coming out. [6] She is usually seen near him and ensuring the others follow his orders. However, Stanley seems too distracted by saving Xeno to acknowledge her in anything but a professional way, so his thoughts of her are unknown.[8]
