Summary[]
Senku gathers the whole Kingdom of Science to discuss their future plans. He wants to solve the mystery of the Petrification so they can heal Tsukasa and avoid another attack, which could completely wipe out humanity.
The villagers are curious about traveling to the other side of the world since they've only ever known the area about the village. Senku tells them they'll build a boat for it, which excites them. Gen proposes a little boat design competition, with the winner being in charge of the ship building and gaining recognition.
This appeals to Magma especially, who still has aspirations of leadership. With Tsukasa gone, he believes that the Tsukasa Empire could be persuaded to follow him instead, if he can prove that he's worthy of it by winning. He gets Namari and Mantle to help him in his scheme. Mantle asks him why he's bothering with the effort when killing Senku would be so much easier, but Magma replies that Senku makes some fun stuff, so it's worth keeping him around.
The next morning, Gen hosts the competition. Magma goes first, showing off a large catamaran design that impresses both the other villagers and Senku, who can see that having them around will be extremely valuable. Yo goes next, boasting that his boat is already complete, but pretends he forgot it once he sees Magma's entry.
Senku goes last, showing a design that blows the other two out of the water and easily wins over everyone else. Later, Ukyo asks Gen why bother with the competition when Senku was bound to win anyways, but he says that it's to help unify everyone.
Senku then goes to find Minami, as he's got a specific task for her.
