Wave of Science (
The team is happy that they can finally start manufacturing the first cellphone in their century. Now they must build the heart which is the vacuum tube, the bones which are plastic, and the veins which are the gold wires. Kaseki is fired up to start making the vacuum tubes but is surprised by how complex a Hickman pump is. He momentarily looks sad, but all he wants is a high-5 from Senku.
Suika also wants to help lighten Senku's load, and asks what her and the other kids can do. Senku puts her in charge of making the gold wire, and gives her a high-5 as well. In their lab, Gen and Chrome ask how they'll make plastic, but before Gen gets his answer he's dragged out by Kaseki to help him instead. Chrome gets confused when Senku's recipe for plastic involves heating wood over and over again.
At some point, Senku looks outside and sees that the children are shivering in the cold. Senku puts the plastic on pause so they can make a new invention: the stove. Like this, the villagers can cook food and warm their houses in a safe manner. Kokuyo comments that little by little, the village is becoming a nicer place to live, and Senku says that's just how science is. Kokuyo officially approves of Senku becoming Village Chief.
Gen sings while making manganese batteries, but is aghast when Senku says he needs 800 of them. Some time later, all the components are completed.
