To the Present (そして
Hyoga's spear having fallen apart, the other members of the Tsukasa Empire decide to run since they no longer have the upper hand. However, their fight was a mere diversion as Ishigami Village burns behind them thanks to Hyoga's right hand Homura. The villagers attempt to evacuate but Hyoga and his men want to capture a hostage to win.
The villagers gather around Chrome's storehouse while Homura continues setting fires to keep the villagers contained as well as destroying their resources. Determined to help, Suika tries to draw the attention of the enemies away from the others. Giving chase, Suika leads them towards the sulfur spring.
Amidst the chaos, the villagers realize that Suika ran off, and Senku points out that she may be in more danger than she thinks. Suika and Homura both sense that something deadly is coming, but Senku and Kohaku arrive just in time to get her to safety with their gas masks.
Hyoga and Homura also climb to safety, but the lackeys are slightly delayed and are stuck holding on to the tree below. Senku lies to them saying that he produced the toxic gas, and Hyoga decides to test the gas using the "disposable" lackeys. All of them die on the ground, so Hyoga and Homura are forced to wait in the treetops until the gas dissipates, resulting in a win for the villagers.
Intending a preemptive strike, Senku tells everyone they'll be making a new device to win them the war against the Tsukasa Empire...
