A Certain Scientist's Wish (とある
Summary[]
Suika rushes back to the others with important news. Magma was the one who tried to kill Gen!
The evening before, Magma and Mantle celebrated their victory over the sorcerer by roasting meat over a warm fire. They discuss their plans, mentioning Kohaku particularly as she's been a problem in the past. Suika explains all this to the others, and Senku laughs at how Gen just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. He asks Kohaku why Magma may have it out for her, and she explains it was probably due to the previous Grand Bout.
A few months ago, the Bout was held to find a husband for Ruri, the current priestess. This person would then also become the Village Chief. Magma was due to win, but Kohaku interrupted the fight, attacking Magma by surprise. With him considered defeated and Kohaku the winner, the result was nullified and Ruri was left without a husband. They planned to host a second one sometime in the future.
Senku theorizes that if Magma became chief, it would be difficult to get the sulfa drug to Ruri, and thus they should probably prevent him marrying Ruri. Kohaku agrees, and tries to enlist the help of Kinro and Ginro, the village guards. They agree, on the terms that they're trying to save the priestess' life. Chrome, motivated by the same want, doesn't mind what happens as long as Ruri can live.
Senku decides that their next goal will be to make glass.
