A Future To Get Excited About (
Summary[]
The chapter continues with Senku's conversation with Why-man. He asks if they can move however they want in space, and they say yes, confirming it by copying what they believe Senku to look like, resulting in a terrifying and huge skull, with Senku's hair.
The discussion lasts a while, with Stanley and Kohaku growing anxious. At some point, the Petrification Weapons decide they will leave, since humanity cannot help them with what they need, but before that they decide they'll petrify everyone once more as a parting gift. Stanley draws the grenade net launcher and aims, alerting Senku to the situation. The devices freeze, recognizing the threat, and Stanley tells them that as long as they don't do anything, he won't shoot. Kohaku adds they only want to continue the negotiations.
Senku offers humanity's help to try and craft something "truly out of this world" with the help of the devices, but they disagree, saying the chance of that happening is almost zero. Senku points out that almost zero isn't zero, and he'd managed to get from nothing to the moon in only 10 years. Despite this, the devices begin leaving the moon; however, one single device chooses to stay, curious about Senku's promise and what humanity could do.
The devices leave the moon while the astronauts return to their shuttle with their tiny prize. Using the capsule to keep their new friend safe inside the vacuum, Kohaku asks where they came from. It responds that it doesn't know any more than Kohaku knows about who made her and humanity in the first place. It then asks the humans why they don't like petrification, and each astronaut gives their own answer. The device seems dissatisfied with their answers until Senku points out that it's much like them; learning about unknowns gets them excited.
