Divine Scream, Down to Earth (
Summary[]
The chapter continues immediately from the previous one, with the Kingdom of Science's fighters entering a suicidal charge towards Brody and his armed men. Brody wonders why they're even attempting a frontal assault when it's sure to result in their deaths.
Overly excited, Magma yells out a Petrification Weapon command for 1,000 metres and one second. Yo calls him dumb, as he's too far from it to activate it, only to have Nikki call Yo dumb too. Brody realizes their intention to petrify the entire American continent. A flashback informs us that Senku had indeed told them as such, and to hurry because people were already dying in Araxá.
Brody commands his men to open fire and at no cost allow any members near the weapon. Yo gets shot in the torso, but seems to still be breathing immediately afterwards. Nikki tells him as long as they're still breathing, they have a chance to survive and that they shouldn't hesitate.
Moz then uses his spear to force a route between the Americans to get to Brody. He successfully cuts the keychain off of Brody's necklace, flinging it upwards. Homura swiftly jumps to action, leaping above everyone else and catching the keys. Brody pulls his shotgun out and blasts Homura's arm, forcing her to drop it. They each scramble for the keys; Kinro nudging Americans out of the way and Kirisame throwing a sharpened rock to stop one of them grabbing it. Magma succeeds in grabbing the keys and makes it to the safe. He quickly opens it, only to get filled with bullets moments later.
The shooting stops.
All the members of the Kingdom of Science in the room are lying on the floor, covered in blood.
Brody sheds a single tear, and goes to retrieve the device. Joel Gear, still alive but crushed by Kinro, presses a button on his watch and grabs the device before Brody does. Angered, Brody slams the safe onto Joel's arm, crushing it. Brody asks why Joel would betray the Americans, and Joel responds it was because he'd interrupted his victory toast.
Hearing a noise from Joel's watch, Brody realises that they must have gotten Senku's command somehow and demands they secure the watch's radio. Another American says it's not like they'd be able to activate it given how injured they all are. Joel tells them they're not the ones going to activate it, but Why-man, who has been sending signals at regular intervals to petrify the whole world.
The chapter ends with the American Colony base getting engulfed in the petrification beam.
