Brody Dudley (ブロディ・ダドリー Burodi Dadorī) is a modern human who was part of an elite unit prior to Petrification[7], and later became a member of the American Colony, serving as a mechanic to Dr. Xeno. After the abduction of Dr. Xeno, he allies with the Kingdom of Science to establish Corn City. Upon his revival 8 years later, Brody fully joins the Kingdom of Science to fight Why-man.
Appearance[]
He is a large, muscular middle-aged man with broad shoulders, a tiny waist, dark skin and a bald head. His eyes are normally hidden behind a pair of small, round-framed sunglasses that have two upwards spikes on their temples. He has thick black eyebrows. His nose is large and wide, with a jawline to match. His mouth is also quite big with full lips and deep laugh-lines.
He wears the standard outfit for the American Colony, consisting of a long button-down with zigzag hems, downwards-slanting zippers across both breasts and upwards-slanting zippers on both thighs. Brody wears his buttoned to the top and with the sleeves folded upwards. He also has standard pants, tucked into knee-height black boots. He's got a spiked collar-style necklace with studs and more zigzag pattern. Around his waist, there are two side-release buckle belts, holding up several pouches filled with work tools. He has a shotgun slung across the small of his back.[8]
Personality[]
Brody is pacifistic and dislikes needless bloodshed, similar to Ukyo. This was seen when he simply laughed off suspicions of Gen's deceit and scolded one of his soldiers for being quick to want to pursue the enemy, rather than save their leader and enemy after they were trapped. Because of this attitude, the Kingdom of Science believed him to be the best person suited for negotiating with the plan of establishing Corn City and Senku even gave him the revival fluid recipe to show good faith. Even when forced to have the Kingdom of Science gunned down, he shed tears of regret for his act.
When discussing terms with Minami Hokutozai, he wanted to sternly let her know that his colony were in charge, though backed off after Nikki Hanada stepped in and intimidated him. Amused by the girls' ferocity, Brody agreed to ally with them and establish Corn City.[9]
Abilities[]
As a member of a military unit, Dr. Brody is most likely very skilled in the art of combat. Due to his negotiations with Senku, Brody has knowledge of the revival fluid.
- Skilled Mechanic: Brody is greatly skilled in creating large machinery. Along with Xeno, they constructed a large submarine.
- Mental Resilience: Among the select few mentally strong enough to withstand the millennia-long effects of the Petrification, Brody possesses an extreme amount of determination.
- Immense Strength: Alongside his abilities as a skilled mechanic, he is incredibly strong, shown carrying a boulder when constructing the American Colonies base. This added strength would do him well as a mechanic, allowing him to carry heavy materials to build with.
- Craftmanship: Along with being able to build giant submarines, he was the one to help construct the guns the Americans use with Xeno along with other weapons. It's likely he is the one who created the nagamaki Maya uses and the naginata one of the background soldiers use.
- Military Training: Being a former military officer, Brody has received the standard military training. Brody is capable of using a gun and is rather proficient in doing so as he was able to shoot Homura in the arm as she's jumping midair.

Trivia[]
- Brody's verbal quirk is a hearty laugh ("BAH HA HA", or 「バハハハ」), similar to Magma's and Ryusui's laughs.
- There is an error in the English version of Volume 20 where Brody's height is listed as 822 cm (26'11").
- Brody often nicknames people "greenhorn" such as Joel and one of the American soldiers.
- As Xeno refers to him as Dr. Brody, he likely obtained a doctorate before petrification.
