Future Road Map (
Summary[]
Spurred by the Morse code message, the science team gets to work on more rockets in order to begin working on the moon. As rockets can only carry 10% of their weight in cargo, Suika comes up with a new idea to make transporting things between the Earth and the moon more efficient: a space elevator. Senku agrees it's worth looking into, but they lack materials strong enough to do it. Luckily, they have the power of petrification, and test its strength on Kohaku's hair and spider silk.
As they need incredible amounts of material to petrify in order to make an elevator, Yuzuriha suggests they begin harvesting silkworm cocoons. After some time, they begin testing small-scale elevators, which work perfectly fine heading downwards as gravity pulls them towards Earth, but going back up is difficult. To solve this, they use the conductive properties of the petrification stone to create an electromagnet able to pull up the elevator car.
While working through the summer, Kaseki mentions he hasn't seen any mosquitoes yet and it's been a rather enjoyable project so far. Ryusui, suspecting something afoot due to how well everything seems to have been going, begins investigating. He overhears Joel mention that the diamond battery in the petrification device they have seems to be worn down faster than expected. Ryusui calls up workers in other regions of Japan to ask about mosquitoes, and realizes that only Kanto, where they've been working, has had a mosquito-free summer. He sends people out to search for signs of petrified mosquitoes, and finds some. Ryusui confronts the petrification device.
